Phil McGoldrick has been calling property auctions for 15 of the 25 years he has been involved in the real estate industry. Auctions have been a full time pursuit over the last 8 years, with charity and fundraising auctions and a role with the Harcourts Group as National Auction Manager consuming the balance of his time. Phil has competed at the National Property Auctioneering championships with success as winner in 2006 and runner up in 2007, 2008 and 2009. This has seen him represent New Zealand on four occasions in the Australasian Championships which he won in 2009 having made the final four on two previous occasions. Phil is passionate about the auction process to sell property, he says it is the ultimate way to discharge the real estate consultant’s duty to sell the owner’s property for the best price in a reasonable period of time. Whilst skill in calling auctions is important, Phil believes a good auctioneers real value lies in his or her ability to strategise and especially to negotiate for the owner client.
